Over the past three weeks, I was contemplating various subjects for my next blog post. I had many great ideas but couldn’t decide on one.

THIS ISN’T REAL.

I had no inspiration over the past weeks so I did not write a blog post.

THIS ISN’T REAL.

I just can’t do it. I cannot come up with good ideas for an article anyone would like to read.

THIS ISN’T REAL.

I had too many other things to do.

THIS ISN’T REAL.

No-one reads my blogs anyways, so why should I pressure myself.

THIS ISN’T REAL.

Do you know these voices in your head that keep trying to keep you down, or to find excuses? THEY AREN’T REAL. They are only projections from the past, things that we may have heard as kids from our parents, teachers, siblings, or other persons we considered worth copying at the time. We so much incorporated them in our system that they run in our heads like an automatic programme, and it can be really challenging to change that programming.

I find a few situations in the movie “Divergent” (Part 1) really inspiring and eye-opening in that respect. The protagonist is challenged by brain stimulations where she finds herself in virtual situations facing her biggest fears. At some point, she comes to realise that she is just in a virtual situation. THIS ISN’T REAL, she realises and then finds out of the situation in creative ways, mending her reality in that moment.

It’s the same in our lives. Once we become aware of our internal voices (or chatterboxes), we can take a step back, and realise they aren’t real. We can create something different from that. So here I am. Here’s my new blog post. I love it. And it isn’t real.
